If you want the biggest iPhone 13 available, you’ll be looking at the Pro Max, which starts at $1,100.
With a whopping 6.7-inch display, the Pro Max is the super-sized sibling to the iPhone 13 Pro, which measures 6.1 inches and starts at $1,000.
For many people, big screens aren’t just about bingeing their favorite Netflix show in bed. They’re also about having more space for typing and reading email and online articles, as well as playing video games. Those are all good reasons to opt for the bigger display.
Keep in mind that more size also means more weight. Weighing in at 8.5 ounces, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a little more than an ounce heavier than the Pro. That might not sound like much, but it’s about the weight of an AA battery, which you might feel after long phone sessions.
On the flip side, the Pro Max’s larger size offers room for a bigger battery. Logging nearly 53 hours on one charge in CR’s tests, the phone outlasts every other phone in our ratings. The plain iPhone 13 Pro’s battery life isn’t shabby by any means, though, with a still impressive 40-hour battery life.
Aside from those differences, the iPhone 13 Pro and the Pro Max have identical specs. Unlike their less-expensive siblings, these top-of-the-line phones have an optical telephone lens in addition to the wide and ultrawide rear lenses. They also have Apple’s high-refresh-rate ProMotion technology, which makes the screen more responsive when you’re scrolling or tapping away.
So again, the choice here may be simple. Do you want the largest iPhone with the most battery life? Then the Pro Max is your model. Or for a medium-sized iPhone outfitted with Apple’s best hardware, you can save $100 by selecting the Pro.
