CoinDCX, India’s first crypto unicorn, asked users not to click on any link or messages from its official Twitter handle as the company lost control of the social media account following a hack.

• “We are in the process of further investigating the possible attempt to compromise our twitter profile that has led to the inaccessibility of it,” CoinDCX said through the crypto exchange’s customer support account on Twitter.

• Earlier this year, the Twitter account of Beeple, or Mike Winkelmann, a non-fungible token (NFT) artist, was hacked, while India’s Ministry of Education’s Twitter account was hacked to promote fake Azuki NFT airdrops.

• The University of Philippines’ official Twitter account was also hacked earlier this year by NFT scammers to promote a fake airdrop, while India’s prime minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account was hacked last December to promote fake news about India adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender.
