KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Division of Consumer Affairs are cautioning homeowners to be wary of paving businesses that solicit door-to-door.
Be wary of pressure to have the work done immediately,” they said, advising residents to get a written estimate/contract beforehand and make certain the paperwork has the name, address and telephone number of the business.
The county officials also said you should compare estimates before hiring; and always note license plate numbers and vehicle descriptions.
The Ulster County Consumer Affairs Office can be reached at 845-340-3260.
