European Galaxy Z Fold3 & Flip3 Get April Security Patch | #android | #security | #hacking | #aihp

Samsung has made the foldable phone market bend to its will, and that’s evidenced by the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3. These two foldable phones received high praise and really pushed foldable phones closer to the mainstream.

Now, these devices are set to be one-upped by the next generation of Samsung foldable phones. While the Galaxy Z Fold4 and the Galaxy Z Flip4 will launch sometime in the Summer, the current generation still needs some love and attention. According to Sam Mobile, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are getting the April 2022 security patch.

The April security patch brings some useful performance and security changes to the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3

With security patches, you can’t expect major changes to the software, but they often bring some really useful additions. For starters, this patch has the firmware version F711BXXS2CVC9. It’s launching to Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the UK.

With it, you can expect fixes for 88 vulnerabilities in the software, which is really something. Along with the security changes, the patch brings some additional bug fixes and performance improvements. The typical user probably won’t notice much of a difference in day-to-day performance.

How to get this update

There are two main ways to get this update onto your phone. The first one is the safest and easiest: wait for the OTA. To check if you have the update, go to your system settings and scroll down to the bottom where it says “Software Update.” Tapping on that section will bring you to the update page. When you tap on the “Download and install option”, your phone will do a search for the update. If it’s available for your phone, you’ll be able to download and install it from that point.

As for the more tech-savvy users, you can manually flash the update onto your phone. Just know that it takes technical know-how in order to try this method. If you can’t do it correctly, you run the risk of bricking your device. Click here to find the file for your region.
