1.Can I scan any website or IP address?

Yes. If the website or IP address has been blocked, you will be notified via a pop-up box.

2.When I perform a scan, why does it show up under "Scan Results"?

If you are not a subscriber to AIHP then your scan will show up. If you are a subscriber your scans are private to your account only.

3.How do I delete a scan from the public "Scan Results" page?

- You must purchase the report first. When you purchase a report you will be asked if you would like to "remove it from the list‚" for a small fee.

4.How do I block my website or IP address from being scanned?

To block your website or IP address from being scanned, you must perform a scan first. Then you must purchase the report. When you select a report to purchase you will be asked if you would like to block this website or IP address from future scans. There will be a small fee.

5.Which scan is best if I am trying to scan my network?

A "Complete Scan" is the best scan, but takes the longest.

6.What is the deference in the 3 scan types?

  1. Quick Scan - This scan will search your network for vulnerabilities on the most common ports and integrate the results about your network into a easy to read reports. This scan is used to retrieve some basic information about your networks and some vulnerabilities that exist.

  2. Complete Scan - This scan will search all ports (TCP and UDP) for any vulnerabilities that exits. All the details will be compiled into a nice report and suggestions about fixing these problems will also be shown. This is a long scan that could take up to 1 week.

  3. Web Site Scan - This scan will only search your web site for vulnerabilities. Great for sites that have just been launched or sites that need to be scanned quickly scanned for vulnerabilities.

7.Is it legal to perform a security audit (scan) without permission from the owner of the website or IP address?

Yes, it is legal, as long as you do not use the information used in the scan and try to penetrate (hack) into the network or website. Vulnerability scanning is legal, but hacking without written authorization is not legal.

8.My scan has been going on for a while now. How do I know that it is still scanning?

You should receive an email that your scan is still in progress every 6 hours.

9.How accurate are the results?

It depends on the type of scan you are performing. Vulnerabilities are weaknesses that either give hackers information about your website/network or give a hacker a way to access (hack) into your website/network. Please note that 80% of computer hacking is research.

From the time the scan was performed to the time you purchase the report, the vulnerabilities in the report may have been updated. It is best to perform a new scan if the scan is more than 30 days old.

10.What is the description field used for?

This is an optional field. It is used to describe the website or IP address being scanned.
