Ranchi: A collaborative effort involving six states is set to take place in Ranchi on November 7 and 8, aimed at devising a comprehensive strategy to combat cyber crime. The meeting will see the participation of law enforcement officers from Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh, in addition to the host state, Jharkhand Police.
The gathering will feature presentations by the regional Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Jharkhand, who will provide updates on the actions taken within their respective districts. Discussions will delve into the various aspects of cracking down on cyber crime and the associated legal consequences. Importantly, judicial officers will also be in attendance.
To facilitate this effort, Jharkhand’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has compiled a dossier containing information on cyber criminals operating in Jharkhand and neighboring states. This dossier will be shared with the participating states. Similarly, other state police departments will provide lists of cyber criminals who commit offenses in their regions but operate from Jharkhand, enhancing regional cooperation in the fight against cyber crime.
