TRENTON – A Lakewood man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on Tuesday for coercing a minor under the age of 12 to produce videos of child sexual abuse and send them to him, said U.S Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.

Samuel Schwinger, 38, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Georgette Castner to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

In March 2019, Schwinger used an app to communicate with the victim and convince the child to make sexually explicit videos, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Five years ago, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said he posed as a young girl online to obtain explicit videos of a child in Oklahoma. When a search warrant was first executed at his home on April 5, 2019, Schwinger told police that he knew why they were there and he attempted to hide his iPhone under a couch.
