The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the University of Colorado Boulder, in partnership with the Boulder Valley School District, is hosting a school safety presentation at Lafayette’s Centaurus High on Nov. 29.

Sarah Goodrum, a Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence researcher, will present information on violence warning signs, being an upstander and the use of Colorado’s Safe2Tell as an anonymous reporting resource.

Carissa Jaquish, Boulder Valley’s safety, security and emergency management manager, will talk about the district’s multidimensional approach to safety. Amanda Giguere, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s outreach director, will discuss the power of theater for practicing upstander scenarios.

The free presentation is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Colorado Department of Public Safety. Centaurus High School is located at 10300 W South Boulder Road, Lafayette.
