According to the police, ” The complainant was contacted by an unknown person on July 5 . The Skype account holder with a similar Skype profile name pretended to be a FedEx company and also claimed to be from Mumbai Anti-Narcotics department. The cyber thugs also asked to verify the bank account of the complainant and her family to avoid taking action in this matter by saying that a parcel has been sent from Mumbai to Taiwan in the name of the 25-year-old woman. Accordingly, the mother of the complainant was asked to transfer Rs 53.63 lakh online. We have registered a case against the unknown mobile phone holder, Skype profile holder and Punjab National Bank account holder in the cyber police station under the Information Technology (IT) Act.
