LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The owner of a Lafayette massage business owes the state more than $70,000 in back taxes, according to prosecutors.
59-year-old Meilan Min, of Rossville, was charged with nine felony charges on Friday, including Corrupt Business Influence. Min is the owner of the Foot Lounge, on Creasy Lane.
Prosecutors said an investigation by the state Department of Revenue found Min was collecting taxes from customers, but hadn’t registered with the state.
Three of Min’s employees told investigators through an interpreter that they weren’t licensed massage therapists, and also said that they received flat fees to perform adult relaxation and massages at the business.
In addition to Corrupt Business Influence, Min is charged with four felony counts each of Theft and Failure to Pay Taxes Held in Trust.
