Yano213, 04 Sep 2022I care because I do love Nokia phone … My last was the Nokia 7 plus, and what a great phone…. moreMostly because they are too small, and had no profit for about 3 years. They started only now to work with profits, and one can see this in the new releases. I mean, i find x30 to be great for the price, and also great for not being streight outta oppo or xiaomi or whatever other far eastern brand. But well, the whole point of a device is how it works not quite what CPU it has, the whole package is more important then just the CPU. A the good example for that would be the first poco phone, a garbage device that did not last 6 montu without breaking, but hey it had flagship CPU. So it really depends of what the customer thinks a phone is. Most here think a phone is a CPU that has something arround it…

rizki1, 02 Sep 2022If you never use Xiaomi phone you are lie.I used to be a Xiaomi user, I once had two Redmi Note series, and looks like you don’t understand what I mean there. “MIUI updates” and “Android Version updates” are two different things, where here we’re talking about the “Android Version updates” one. “MIUI updates” are just updates to the “Xiaomi’s own Android skin” and updates to the “Android security patch level”, but not always updates the “Android version” itself.

I do not know how many devices by hmd are designed by odm’s so i do not talk about something i do not know, you should do the same. Anyway, i incline to think that the more expensive devices are designed in Finland. Also odm’s and their part into manufacturing is quite wrong percived and a lot of the wannabe “jurnalist” do not know nothing about the contracts made and what integrates in this contracts. To copy paste from another article is easy, and does not need researching so i also incline to take every article with a grain of salt.
As for Fairphone, i have researched a lot about it, the camera is quite ok, and performance is also standard, no lagging no stutter. I see no reason why would it be a “sacrifice” buying one. Buying chinese devices would be sacrificing privacy and own principles for paper-specs hardware and backdoor software.

Also I was right. They did report the wrong specs initially. Even in the hands on they somehow managed to get the micro SD support wrong. That’s really bad for professional tech reviewers. The hands on still incorrectly claims it had micro SD

These phone may cost more than the chinese brands, but the extended OS updates definitely adds value to the phones. This phones are planned to be durable and with long software support. They could be used for 5+ years or so. They are not going to get obsolete when the newer android versions arrive (like the cheap brands).
Too bad the 3.5mm jack is missing.

Nokia doesn’t have any brand value.
Even if the price was same as Chinese brands , i would prefer them over nokia , let alone paying extra.

Nokia needs to complete with Chinese smartphones,even samsung provides better deals than this.specs are like max 17-18 k INR. Even they should provide 7 series 5g sd ones or high end mtk at this range

Yet the development & design of the X30, alongside every release from HMD except for the retro dumbphones & maybe 9 Pureview // 8 // 8 Scirocco was done by chineses ODMs.
Not a single drop of finnish design or development in that X30 I’m afraid.
So yeah, FairPhone remains your only option, if you’re willing to sacrifice cameras, peformance & design in the name of sustainability.
Don’t take me wrong, I’m a long-time fan of the Nokia brand. But it’s long gone by now.
HMD are simply milking what they can out of the name, by putting it on average china-developped & designed phones, and asking Nokia money for them.
I guess they’re gonna do just that until there’s nothing left. Like many I think their Nokia licence should’ve been revocated a long time ago, but that’s just business I guess.
