Apple has released MacOS Big Sur 11.6.7 for users still running the older macOS Big Sur operating system.

The small system software update apparently includes a fix for Mail app and other mail applications that failed to open attachments.

The update is available now for any user running the macOS Big Sur operating system, you can find it in  Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.

Always back up your Mac before installing system software updates.

The Mac will need to restart to complete installation.

Most Mac users are likely running macOS Monterey, the latest version of which is MacOS Monterey 12.4, while the more adventurous may already have installed the macOS Ventura beta on their machines to preview the next generation system software version.
