It is alleged through the investigation that Emily E. McIntyre, 25, was obtaining benefits from the Department of Social Services and that she had secured employment while receiving those benefits. It is alleged that she failed to notify the Department of Social Services about her employment as received benefits that she was not entitled to, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

McIntyre was arrested Oct. 7 by Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Schneider and charged with fourth-degree grand and fourth-degree welfare fraud, both class E felonies.

McIntyre was turned over to Central Booking deputies for arrest processing. The District Attorney’s Office recommended that McIntyre be released on her own recognizance as the charges did not qualify for bail under state Bail Reform.

McIntyre was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Mount Morris Town Court at a later date.

Assisting with the investigation were Sheriff’s Investigator James Merrick, the Livingston County Department of Social Services and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
