IT company announces new Hartford training program | #education | #technology | #training | #hacking | #aihp

IT firm GalaxE.Solutions announced Thursday it will hire 60 graduates of a local technology training and education program aimed at women in 2022 as part of a new workforce development effort.

GalaxE, which has offices in Hartford, will bring on graduates of the Girls for Technology Service Desk training program as part of the company’s “Pipeline 4.0” initiative, which will train young people for technology roles.

The city of Hartford said it will provide a grant of up to $600,000 in American Rescue Plan funding to support the collaboration.

According to GalaxE officials, Pipeline 4.0 will offer a 10-week course that allows trainees to gain professional and technical skills through hybrid instruction, career coaching, mentorship and other avenues. Graduates will earn a job with GalaxE or other corporate partners.

All residents of Hartford between the ages of 18 and 29 who have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent are eligible to apply.

“Hartford has emerged as a regional hub for information technology, and we’re committed to making sure that growth translates into opportunity for Hartford residents,” said Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin. “What’s so important about Pipeline 4.0 and our partnership with GalaxE.Solutions and Girls for Technology is that participants won’t just finish with a certificate or a dream, they’ll finish with a good job, guaranteed.”

GalaxE announced plans earlier this month to add 180 positions in Hartford. About 100 service desk positions currently based in the Philippines will be moved to Hartford, and another 80 people will be recruited through workforce development efforts.
