The IRS Criminal Investigation unit will send cyber attachés to various countries to combat cybercrime starting in June, the agency announced Thursday.
The attachés will be deployed to Australia, Colombia, Germany, and Singapore to focus on “tax and financial crimes that use cryptocurrency, decentralized finance, peer-to-peer payments and mixing services,” according to an IRS news release.
The program will be from June to September 2023.
