HYDERABAD: A person was arrested by Cyber Crimes Hyderabad and sent to Judicial remand on Friday for allegedly misusing ‘X’ handles and demanding money from X users.

According to cybercrime police, Bhukya Ramesh, using the ‘X’ handle @MbRamesh_4005, was posting abusive, objectionable, and sexually explicit content, as well as insulting girls by posting morphed videos targeting a girl.

His posts were trending on X, and handles were seen selling alleged videos, attracting various penal sections under the IPC and Information Technology Act. He demanded Rs. 50 for sharing alleged content on Watsapp and requested screenshots after payment.

Cyber crime police arrested Bhukya Ramesh after a harassment complaint was received on SHE teams X handles, alleging he was selling a morphed video for Rs 50.

A cyber crime case was registered against him under U/Sec 67(A), 67 IT Act, and U/Sec 509 IPC at Cyber Crime police station in Hyderabad on October 25, 2023.

Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have warned all X platform handles not to engage in outrageous, abusive, and indecent behaviour towards the modesty of women in general and any individual in particular. The police also threatened to take appropriate legal action against any repeat offenders.
