New Delhi: In a significant upgrade aimed at enhancing cyber security, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) has introduced a new feature on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. This new facility is specifically designed for the swift reporting of potential cybercrime activities, including suspicious website URLs, WhatsApp numbers, Telegram handles, phone numbers, email IDs, SMS headers, and social media links.
The primary objective of this upgrade is to create a comprehensive repository that will aid in the analysis and monitoring of cybercrime trends across the country. By collecting data on attempted cybercrimes, authorities hope to develop more effective strategies to prevent these incidents and safeguard citizens’ digital lives.
Citizens who suspect that they might be targets of cybercrime, or those who encounter suspicious digital activities, are encouraged to use this new reporting feature. Prompt reporting can significantly aid in the early detection and mitigation of cyber threats.
If you have become a victim of cybercrime, or if you wish to report a suspicious digital activity, please do so immediately via the portal at https://www.cybercrime.gov.in/ or by contacting the 1930 National Helpline Number. This facility is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat cyber threats and ensure a safer digital environment for all.
