EFCC reiterates commitment to fight cybercrime | #cybercrime | #computerhacker

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has pledged the commitment of the commission in the enforcement of laws against advance fee fraud and cybercrimes in the country.

EFCC Chairman Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa stated this during the passing out ceremony for Detective Inspector Cadet Course 6 of the commission at Ende Hill in Nasarawa State.

He noted that the signing into law, Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition, Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management as well as Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Acts by President Muhammadu Buhari had enabled the commission to secure 3,785 convictions in 2022.

Mr Bawa explained that EFCC had continued to strengthen the capacity of students in secondary and tertiary institutions nationwide to instill in the young ones the culture of abstinence from financial misconduct especially cybercrimes and advance fee fraud.

115 Detective Inspector Cadets passed out after a nine months training in various areas including operational and legal studies, forensics and counterterrorism.
