In another startling case of cybercrime, Bhushan Rajput, executive Vice President of Cadila Pharma discovered Rs 3.95 lakh being siphoned off from his home loan account though no OTP was shared, no link was opened and no netbanking password was shared. A complaint has been filed with Bodakdev police.

On April 8, Rajput received a message from an unknown number mentioning that Rs 8,400 reward points of net banking had been awarded to him. Rajput, however, did not click on any link. The same evening, he received another message that Rs 24,500 was transferred from his account. As Rajput called his bank manager he was informed that no such transaction had taken place. However, to prevent any untoward incident, Rajput initially blocked his account.

On finding that no money was transferred from his account, he got the account unblocked. To his surprise, it was revealed that Rs 3.95 lakh was deducted from his home loan account and transferred to another account. Bodakdev Police are investigating the matter.
