LEGAZPI CITY — A couple died while a police officer was hurt in a hacking incident late Wednesday, May 24, in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
Senior Master Sargeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, reported that Christopher Realo hacked his wife, Yhona, with a bolo after a heated argument around 10 p.m. in Barangay Mabolo,
Yhona suffered injuries in different parts of her body that caused her instant death.
Bongon said the responding police officers forcibly entered the couple’s house after the suspect refused to cooperate in the negotiation.
When Corporal Joshua Tiaba tried to pacify the suspect, the officer was also hacked in his right shoulder, prompting the other lawmen to shoot Christopher.
Investigators said Christopher was brought to a hospital but was declared dead.
Bongon said based on the initial investigation, the couple had an argument due to jealousy and alleged use of illegal drugs by Christopher. INQ
