Brother of Police Commissioner Arraigned on Cybercrime Charges – Love FM Belize News & Music Power | #cybercrime | #infosec | #hacking | #aihp


Arthur Roy Williams, chances are you may know him from social media, or perhaps you know him as the brother of the Police Commissioner, Chester Williams.  Tonight, Arthur Roy is out on bail after he was arraigned on three criminal charges.  The 53-year-old driver for the Ombudsman, pleaded not guilty to two counts of using a computer to disseminate a false statement with the intent to cause another person to be subjected to public ridicule or embarrassment, and one count of using a computer system to intimidate a person under the Cybercrime Act.  The charges were brought by none other than the Police Commissioner Chester Williams after his brother made several social media posts on Facebook on January 7 of this year.  Arthur Roy, who is a resident of Rivas Estate, Dangriga, was offered bail in the sum of $10,000 plus one surety of the same amount, or two sureties of $5,000 each which he was able to meet just before midday today.  Arthur Roy is expected back in court on March 27.  Today, he was unrepresented, but Arthur Roy has indicated that he will be seeking legal representation for his next court date.  Prosecutor for the case is Alifa Elrington.  According to Court Reporter, Anita Nembhard, the prosecutor noted that this case is important so others can know that they cannot make public posts about people without consequences.
