Members of the Cybercrime Branch proceeded to arrest a 68-year-old person after evaluating information and evidence that a specific user of an account on a file-sharing platform had acquired and possessed child sexual abuse material.
Specifically, on Saturday morning, members of the Cybercrime Branch and the Electronic Data Laboratory conducted a search under a court warrant at the premises where the 68-year-old man works in Famagusta province, where two laptop computers, a mobile phone, and seven hard drives were found and confiscated for further scientific examination.
The Cybercrime Branch is continuing its investigations.
