AI Kavach’s digital defence to tackle $10 trillion cybercrime by 2025 | #cybercrime | #computerhacker

Amidst the escalating threats of digital deception and cybercrime, a report by Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that by 2025, the global financial toll of such activities will surge to a staggering $10 trillion annually. The digital era, especially post-COVID-19, has seen a surge in online transactions, and with it, the urgency for robust security measures has intensified. In this landscape of digital vulnerability, AI Kavach emerges as a bulwark against fraudulent activities. Founded in 2021 by Pratyusha Vemuri and Girish Nagavarapu, the company is poised to offer groundbreaking solutions to safeguard individuals and businesses alike.

Pratyusha Vemuri, at the helm of AI Kavach, brings to the table an impressive repertoire of experience in product development and management. Her academic journey began with a BTech from JNTU Hyderabad, followed by an MS in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Toledo, Ohio. Vemuri’s professional trajectory includes pivotal roles at Harbinger Systems and Persistent Systems. In 2010, she joined Microsoft India as a Senior Program Manager, where she was instrumental in managing key enterprise products, including Microsoft Exchange.

Her ascent within Microsoft was meteoric, eventually leading to her position as Head of Product Identity, Security, and Privacy within the Microsoft Cloud + AI group. There, she managed substantial initiatives in security, privacy, and compliance. Her tenure of 14 years at Microsoft imbued her with the acumen to tackle safety and fraud issues head-on, culminating in the inception of AI Kavach, alongside co-founder Girish Nagavarapu.

AI Kavach, with its AI-powered digital assistant, promises a proactive defence mechanism against the spectre of fraud. It alerts users to potential threats, including phishing, financial fraud, and identity theft through personalized notifications. By harnessing cutting-edge AI and machine learning, the assistant scrutinizes data from social media, credit cards, and banking to detect fraudulent activity. Continuous updates and enhancements to the AI models ensure that the system stays a step ahead of emerging fraud trends. User feedback also serves as a vital component in refining the protection offered.

The entrepreneurial journey of AI Kavach gained further momentum when Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal invested INR 1 crore in the venture, following its feature on the premiere of Shark Tank India’s second season. The founders’ expertise and strategic vision impressed the “Sharks,” earning them not just financial backing but also mentorship to expedite the company’s growth trajectory.

Vemuri plans to channel the investment into expanding the engineering team and amplifying customer acquisition efforts, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, following a focus on metropolitan areas. The roadmap includes partnerships with e-commerce platforms, financial institutions, and banks to integrate AI Kavach’s safeguarding service.

AI Kavach’s innovative approach to fraud prevention arrives at a critical time, with cybercrime damages set to soar by 2025. The company’s solution presents an effective and timely response to the challenges posed by online fraud.

During season 3 of Shark Tank India, Pratyusha Vemuri showcased AI Kavach, explaining the startup’s potential impact on protecting Indian consumers and businesses from the ever-growing threat of cybercrime. With a patented, AI-driven system capable of identifying and alerting users to fraudulent calls, messages, apps, and more, AI Kavach had already achieved significant traction — boasting 20,000 downloads and 1,500 paying members shortly after its launch.

AI Kavach positions itself as a sentinel in the fight against cybercriminals, particularly in India’s rapidly digitizing environment, which presents ample opportunities for fraud. The innovators behind AI Kavach are prepared to serve as the first line of defence against the perils of cyber fraud, ensuring a safer digital experience for all.
